Always Ready, Always Lethal
📍 Naval Weapons Station Earle, New Jersey | 📍Fort Devens, Massachusetts
Across two states and two training locations, Marines and Sailors from Combat Logistics Battalion 25’s Red Bank and Providence sites recently executed the Marine Corps Combat Pistol Program (CPP), reinforcing the individual weapons proficiency, discipline, and combat readiness expected of every Marine.
At Naval Weapons Station Earle, Gunnery Sergeant Galletta, a Combat Marksmanship Trainer, prepared Red Bank Marines on the M18 Service Pistol before organic Combat Marksmanship Coaches led them through qualification and defensive shooting drills. At Fort Devens, Providence Marines completed their annual CPP qualification, providing junior Marines valuable experience with the M18 while senior Marines reinforced fundamentals through coaching and mentorship. The CPP challenges Marines to accurately engage targets from 7, 15, and 25 yards under time constraints, ensuring they can safely and effectively employ their service pistol when required.
Weapons proficiency was paired with casualty response training at both locations. Navy Corpsmen led rehearsals focused on emergency care, casualty triage, stabilization, and evacuation. Reinforcing that combat readiness includes not only the ability to engage the enemy, but also the ability to care for fellow Marines and Sailors when it matters most.
Training across geographically dispersed sites reinforces CLB-25’s commitment to one battalion, one standard. Through disciplined training and repetition, our Marines and Sailors maintain the proficiency and readiness required to fight and win when called upon.
