🌄 Morning Magic at Whiskeytown ✨

There’s something special about watching the world wake up. The first light of the morning slowly spilling over the mountains, painting the sky in beautiful shades of orange and gold.

Sometimes the best way to start the day is to slow down, take in the view, and enjoy a little peace before the day gets busy. 🌿

Just another reminder that you don’t have to travel far to find something beautiful.

Something good is coming… 🌿💦

If you’ve been to Hedge Creek Falls in Dunsmuir, you may have seen the plans for the future trail connecting Hedge Creek Falls to Mossbrae Falls.

The goal is to create a safe, legal way to reach Mossbrae Falls—without having to walk along the active railroad tracks. The proposed extension includes a trail along the Sacramento River and a pedestrian bridge across the river.

It’s been a long time in the making, and I’m excited to see this beautiful trail connection eventually become a reality.

Ever wondered what the forest looks like under a black light? 🔦✨

I joined the Mount Shasta Mycological group for an evening adventure in the McCloud area, where we explored the forest using black lights. My first time trying to photograph them.

Mushrooms, leaves, plants—even the water—lit up in colors you’d never notice during the day. 🍄🌿💧

It was like seeing a completely different forest hiding inside the one we already know.

A perfect October day at the Manton Apple Festival. 🍂🍎

Mike had the tough job of judging the apple pie contest while I had the very tough job of shopping my way through all the local vendors. 😂

Homemade pies, local makers, good food, and that small-town community feeling I love so much.

Sometimes the best adventures are the simple ones, right in our own backyard. ❤️
