***MISSING PERSON***
On October 19th, 2026, at approximately 10:15pm, the Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a missing person identified as Kara Francine Marchant, from Mud Springs Road in Big Bend, CA.

Marchant’s boyfriend last saw her earlier in the day at 4:00pm when he left the house. When he returned home at approximately 8:00pm, Marchant was no longer at the residence. Marchant has a history of psychosis and often wanders from her residence on foot.

Unsuccessful attempts were made by her boyfriend to locate Marchant at neighbors, friends and families residences.

Marchant is 39 years old. She is 5'1" tall and approximately 150 pounds. She has medium length blonde hair, and blue eyes. She is missing the ring finger on her left hand and has a blue flower tattoo on the middle of her back. No clothing description was available but it is known she was not dressed for the cooler weather.

Marchant is considered at risk due to her mental state and not regularly taking her prescription medications as prescribed. Marchant also did not have her cell phone with her.

Shasta County Sheriff's Deputies and Search and Rescue volunteers have been actively searching for Marchant since 10:30 am this morning. If you have any information regarding Marchant, or have seen her recently, please contact the Shasta County Sheriff's Office at (530) 245-6540.
