Friends of Shasta County Libraries We are a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to the support of our free public library system. Books must be clean.

The Friends group is always glad to receive your book donations. You can bring these books in at any time our bookstore is open. If you have a large quantity of books to donate (more than one box, for instance), it is best to give us a call at our bookstore – 245-7265 – and we will meet you at the library’s “receiving” door on the west side of the building. Note that we cannot accept magazines, encyclopedias, Reader’s Digest Condensed Books, phonograph albums – or any books that are soiled or damaged in any way (wet, or missing pages, or “buggy” or moldy). We DO accept CDs, DVDs, VHS and audio cassettes.

We anticipate the first monthly book sale in the Community Room of the Redding Library will be on the first Saturday of March 2026! The sale opens at 10:00 AM and ends promptly at 1:00 PM!

The Monthly Book Sale is cancelled until further notice due to the installation of new flooring and carpeting in the Redding Library! We anticipate having our first monthly book sale Jan 3,2026! Stay tuned for further updates. Thank you!
