We had a wonderful day at Turtle Bay Exploration Park a few weeks ago! The beautiful weather made our “WING-ing It” trip even more special. Our residents got to feed the lorikeets and make some feathered friends, followed by a lovely picnic lunch.

Thank you to everyone who helped — and especially our volunteers — for making it such a great day!

We had a wonderful time last Friday afternoon celebrating Merle's 100th birthday with many of his friends, family, and staff. Family traveled from as far away from North Carolina, which made this party even better!

Merle had an amazing time and was overwhelmed by the love shown to him. It brought tears to his eyes to see just how loved he is! Thank you to all who sent cards and well wishes to make his day even more special.

A huge thank you to our amazing staff and volunteers for throwing a perfect party and to 2SHYY for providing the music and celebrating with us!

On Tuesday, we celebrated our September birthday residents and the U.S. Air Force’s 79th birthday with a wonderful crowd, great music, delicious cake, and a little Air Force trivia! Thank you to Don Burton for providing the music.

We were honored to have our oldest Air Force veteran, Larry, cut the cake, and we also recognized our youngest September birthday resident, Steven. We raised a toast to our Air Force veterans and September birthday residents and had a lovely time celebrating together!

Thank you to everyone who came and who helped make it a special day!

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming three incredible athletes to our Home who recently competed in — and FINISHED — the Ironman 70.3 Northern California in Redding last month.

These three women told their inspiring stories of grit, focus, dedication, and determination in their quest to compete in this world-class event. The Ironman 70.3 consisted of three demanding ones that make up a half-triathlon: a 1.2-mile swim in Whiskeytown Lake, a 56-mile bicycle ride through Shasta County with plenty of rolling hills and panoramic views, and a 13.1-mile run along the Sacramento River Trail.

A big thank you AND congratulations to:

Stephanie, our very own director of nursing at our Home, who decided on a whim to enter the race in June.

Cabrina, an Army veteran who is a wonderful volunteer at our Home.

Bonnie, the city of Anderson's Vice Mayor and huge supporter of our veterans.

You are an inspiration to all!

🎶 Take us out to the ball game....... 🎶

What a great day at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento this past Sunday! We enjoyed a special outing to watch the Sacramento River Cats take on the Reno Aces. The weather was beautiful, the company was great, and our field-level seats in rows 3 and 4 gave us an amazing close-up view of the game!

The River Cats may have lost 4–1, but that didn’t dampen our spirits a bit. We enjoyed plenty of stadium food, laughter, and a wonderful day together.

A special thank you to Pacific Gas and Electric Company for donating our tickets and to the staff who helped make this outing possible. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to enjoy the final River Cats game of the season!

In recognition of Healthcare Environmental Services Week, we wanted to bring special attention to our awesome custodial staff at the Home. Their primary role at our home is to apply their expertise to ensure our facility remains safe, sanitary, and conducive to resident care.

Our custodians are always busy around here! They provide our skilled nursing residents with room cleaning every day of the week, and our residential care residents with room cleaning twice a week. All hallways and offices are cleaned daily, and common area restrooms are cleaned three times a day. They also respond to potential slip and fall hazards, such as spilled coffee, scrub and mop the Home’s new vinyl flooring. and vacuum, extract and maintain the Home’s new carpet. As if that weren't enough, they also clean our exterior windows - and there are a lot!

Custodial staff also have a thorough working knowledge of chemicals and equipment used to clean the Home, making them a critical part of our Home's infection prevention efforts, resident safety, and operational excellence.

Not only that, but they do it with dedication, compassion, and smiles.

A huge thank you to all of our custodians at our Home! We appreciate you.
