Assemblymember Heather Hadwick presented SHASCOM with a Public Safety Certificate of Recognition, honoring our team as the recipients of the Public Safety Service Award for September 2026.

To see the men and women of SHASCOM recognized for the work they do every single day is truly an incredible honor. Our dispatchers and support staff carry an enormous responsibility, meeting every call with courage, compassion, professionalism, and a commitment to serving our community.

We are incredibly proud of the people behind the voices on the other end of the line. Their dedication, selflessness, and unwavering commitment make a difference every day often during someone’s most difficult moments.

SHASCOM is honored to receive this recognition and grateful to Assemblymember Hadwick for shining a light on the important work of public safety telecommunicators.

We look forward to continuing to serve our community with pride, service, selflessness, and the highest standards.

Congratulations, SHASCOM! This recognition belongs to every member of our team. 👏

These colors don’t run! …except to the desk to grab a ringing phone ☎️ or answer the radio 🔊. 🤣

Stars, stripes, and steady voices. 🇺🇸

Before the fireworks light up the sky, we’ll be here answering the calls. ❤️🤍💙 America’s birthday weekend deserves a little extra spirit, and we hope you and your families have a fun, memorable, and safe holiday!

Enjoy the red, white, and blue in the sky, not in the back of a patrol car. 🚔 Plan ahead, find a sober ride home, look out for one another, and celebrate responsibly.

From all of us at SHASCOM, Happy Independence Day weekend! Stay safe, have fun, and make memories worth celebrating.

🔥 Wildfire Ready Redding is HERE! 🔥

Grab your family, your neighbors, and that one friend who still thinks “I’ll figure it out later” counts as a plan… and join us this Friday for our very first Wildfire Ready Redding event!

This isn’t just another event — it’s your chance to get ahead of wildfire season with hands-on tips, local experts, and real tools to help protect your home and loved ones.

🚨 Did you know?
Only 44% of Californians have an emergency plan—and that number hasn’t improved in nearly 20 years. Let’s change that, Redding.

At this event, you’ll learn how to:
✔️ Build a simple, effective emergency plan
✔️ Prepare your home and property
✔️ Stay ready during power outages and evacuations
✔️ Connect with local agencies and resources

Our goal at Redding Fire Department, alongside our amazing partner agencies, is simple:
Help you be ready before an emergency happens—not during one.

📍 Bring the kids. Bring your questions. Leave with confidence.

Let’s get prepared, Redding. 💪🔥

It’s not something you see every day, our 911 center is made up primarily of men today, which is rare in this field.

Dispatch has long been known as a female dominated profession, but here, it’s a team of dedicated men and women showing up every day with calm voices, quick thinking, and steady hands when it matters most.

Different backgrounds, same mission: being there when people need it most. 🚨

Just a bunch of guys being dudes.
