Patron Spotlight!

Ken and Louise have worked hard to improve their property by partnering with COID to upgrade headgates, install custom valve systems, and pipe leaking canals. These improvements have helped them move water more efficiently across the property while using their combination of flood, drip, sprinkler, and K-line systems. We admire their efforts and appreciate the time and dedication they devote to land and water stewardship.

Patron Spotlight: Zarah Meadows

Zarah Meadows is a Redmond-area farm built around a commitment to healthy land, efficient water use, and thoughtful stewardship. Sonia and Richard Doel, transforms 32 acres of neglected land into productive pasture. “Zarah,” an Arabic word meaning planting and beauty, captures the farm's vision.

To improve their irrigation system, they lined part of their main delivery ditch with reclaimed pond liner and rock, installed a variable-speed pump, and laid over a mile of underground pipe. These upgrades enhanced irrigation reliability and saved time for other farm tasks. "It is still a work in progress - but now it is progress we can see every day.”

The Central Oregon Lavender Festival is happening Saturday, September 12, from 10 AM–3 PM in Redmond! Enjoy local vendors, food, music, lavender, and plenty of family-friendly fun.
