Last night, members of our team had the pleasure of being part of Georgia Southern University's "Trick or Treat on Greek Street" to hand out candy and meet some of the families that come out to enjoy this fun night!

Some of our firefighters enjoyed showing off the department’s Tshirts for Breast Cancer Awareness Month this year.
They might have had fun posing for the pics, but the fight against breast cancer is something close to our hearts.
We cheer for current patients and survivors, we mourn those folks we’ve lost to this condition, and we hope for the day that medical research finds an end to this horrible illness that claims so many!!

Our stats for the month of September.

While it may be the time of the year for burning piles of leaves or straw, please exercise caution. Make sure you have a source of water ready to extinguish the fire and actively monitor conditions so the fire doesn't get out of control.

Charge your devices on a hard, flat surface like a table, desk, or floor. Beds, couches, and pillows can trap heat and block airflow, which can cause a battery to overheat.

This year, Fire Prevention Week is focused on safe charging. Whether it's your cellphone ( or a charger battery for it), or your portable outdoor tools....charge them with approved cords, unplug them once they're fully charged, and keep them from surfaces that could ignite from heat.

Good morning Bulloch County! It has been a busy time for PR events. The department loves going out and teaching the kids about fire safety and what we do. We were invited to Julia P. Bryant Elementary School on Patriots Day. Next, on September 15th, we taught the kids at Stilson Elementary about what firefighters do and some fire safety tips. On Thursday September 17th, we were honored to be invited to Touch a Truck at the Ogeechee Tech childcare center to teach those kids about fire safety. The busy two weeks concluded with participating in the Brooklet Peanut Festival where we had an engine and a tanker in the parade, shared fire safety tips with the community and let some of them dunk some of your firefighters in some cool water to raise funds to Give Burns the Boot to support Camp Oo-U-La. We thank you all for your continued support of the Bulloch County Fire Department. As always, be fire safe!
