Last week was a busy and rewarding week for Sheriff Parker and the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office as we had the opportunity to visit Mayodan Methodist Church Growing in Grace Preschool, Osborne Baptist Church Preschool, Wentworth Elementary School, Head Start Preschool, and Floyd Baptist Church.

During each visit, Sheriff Parker and his team enjoyed spending time with students and staff, sharing information about the duties and responsibilities of the Sheriff’s Office. Students also had the opportunity to get a closer look at some of the equipment deputies use every day—and even try out the lights and sirens, which were a big hit!

These visits provide valuable opportunities for our deputies to build positive relationships with children, introduce themselves as friends and community helpers, and discuss important safety topics such as stranger danger and how to call 911 in an emergency.

At the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, we believe that building trust and positive relationships with our youth starts at an early age. We are grateful for these opportunities to connect with our community’s children and help them learn about safety in a fun and engaging environment.

Thank you to each school, preschool, church, and staff member for welcoming us and for your continued support of the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office!
