When you think of manufacturing in Rockingham County, child care furnishings may not be the first thing that comes to mind—but they're part of what we make here, too!

Tree Enterprises manufactures products designed for child care centers and classrooms, including rest mats, crib and cot sheets, blankets, infant care products, play mats, cushions and more. The family-owned company has manufactured in North Carolina for more than 40 years, focusing on durable products for the child care industry.

It's another great example of just how diverse manufacturing is in Rockingham County.

From the production floor to classrooms and child care centers, it's made right here in RoCo.

Drylock Technologies and Ontex are part of our county's personal care manufacturing sector, producing everyday products through modern manufacturing operations right here in Rockingham County.

Four years ago, Rockingham County Economic Development launched the Envision RoCo Youth Career Expo with one goal in mind: show our students that their future can start right here in Rockingham County. 💡

Each year, Envision RoCo gives 7th and 10th grade students the opportunity to explore local career paths, meet employers, and see firsthand the possibilities waiting for them after high school.

This year, we were proud to see Rockingham Community College take the reins and lead the effort to carry Envision RoCo forward. What started as an Economic Development initiative has grown into a true community partnership, and the continued support of RCC and Rockingham County Schools has been instrumental in making this experience possible year after year.

It’s workforce development in action — connecting today’s students with tomorrow’s opportunities, right here at home.

October is Manufacturing Month! 🏭

All month long, we're celebrating the companies, products, and people that make up Rockingham County's diverse manufacturing community.

From food and pet care products to textiles, building materials, packaging, advanced manufacturing, and so much more, products made right here in Rockingham County make their way into homes and businesses across the country—and around the world.

Throughout October, we'll take you behind the scenes, introduce you to some of the companies that call Rockingham County home, and show you just how much is Made in Rockingham County.

🎉 Now THIS is something worth celebrating!

Today, we officially celebrated Drylock Technologies with a ribbon-cutting at the company’s Reidsville manufacturing facility—and what a success story it has already become for Rockingham County!

When Drylock announced in 2024 that Reidsville would become home to its first U.S. manufacturing facility, the company planned to grow to 150 jobs and more than $30 million in investment within five years.

They didn’t need five years. 🙌

In just TWO years, Drylock has already:

✨ Created 212 jobs
✨ Invested more than $31 million
✨ Transformed a 450,000-square-foot facility into a state-of-the-art manufacturing operation
✨ Surpassed its original five-year growth goals

Today’s celebration was about more than cutting a ribbon. It was an opportunity to recognize the people, partnerships and hard work behind this investment—and to celebrate a company that continues to grow right here in Rockingham County.

We are incredibly proud to have Drylock Technologies call Rockingham County home and look forward to what comes next!
