Notice from the Remsen Highway Department.

On Monday July 20, 2026 we will begin the paving of Jones Road, Town of Remsen.

The paving company has planned for the 20th, 22nd, and 23rd of July to complete the paving job. During paving operations traffic control will be carried out by Remsen Highway department employees. We are paving starting at the seasonal part of Jones RD and working toward James RD in a single pass. Do to this, traffic control will change depending on where the paver is. Residents will be guided as to how they will be able to get to their homes, and may have to use the seasonal rd to reach their home. Please work with our staff during this paving operation. Please If you don’t have a reason to use the road during paving, stay clear, and let us get it done. Also Jones RD will be posted to a 5 ton weight limit until such time that we can finish the job,by placing shoulder material on the road. Signs are currently in place stating a 5 ton weight limit. Paving is very expensive, and our goal is to let the new pavement get a good set before heavy traffic is permitted.

These are the tax payers roads, if we all work together, we can try and get the most longevity out of your taxpayer dollars.

Thank you everyone In advance for your cooperation.

Notice from Remsen Highway Department.
This notice is mainly for those who live on the paved part of Jones Road Town of Remsen.
As you may have noticed our presence these last few days working on trimming trees and cutting the shoulders, I thought I would put out this notice to let residents know whats going on.
Starting on July 20, 2026 we will be paving Jones Road starting from the seasonal Road sign and going all the way out to James Road. This could take up to 3 days, and it will cause some problems navigating the road during this time.
As the project gets closer, we will keep every posted on what’s taking place.
The town of Remsen will also be posting a notice.
Thank you everyone in advance for your patience
Remsen Highway Superintendent
Tom Murphy.
