Having our meat and potatoes early on this week before we're sweet sailing! Expect gusty winds today and tomorrow with shower chances for NE CA Monday evening into Tuesday. After that, we warm up and dry out ahead of the weekend.

Increasing southwest/west winds tomorrow will bring gusts up to 35 mph across many area lakes, include Lake Tahoe and Pyramid Lake. Expect large waves and choppy waters; remember that lake waters are still cold enough to induce shock.

The Fire Weather Watch has been ‼️UPGRADED‼️ to a Red Flag Warning from 11am - 11pm Saturday. The Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect for tomorrow. For more details, please visit www.weather.gov/reno.

Gusty winds will produce choppy lakes and hazardous boating conditions Saturday morning through evening, with Lake Wind Advisories in effect for lakes within western NV and Mono County, including Pyramid Lake.

🔥A Fire Weather Watch is in effect 11 AM–11 PM PDT Saturday for much of western NV and eastern Lassen County

🌬️ Breezy SW-W winds increase Wednesday afternoon and evening as a storm brushes by to our north. Gusts of 25–35 mph are expected across portions of northeast CA, the Sierra, and western NV.

Warm and mostly dry conditions continue this work week. Winds increase Wednesday with brief elevated fire weather concerns, then stronger winds return Saturday before cooler temperatures arrive Sunday.

Temps warm up through Wednesday with isolated chances for showers and a stray thunderstorm today south of I-80 and in NE CA. A shortwave will bring increased winds Wednesday. Other than that, we've got a beautiful week in store! ☀️

Today there is a 10% chance of t-storms with temps in the mid 60s for valleys and mid 50s for the Sierra. As the weekend rolls around we see 10-20% chance of t-storms in northeast California. A warming trend continues through mid next week.
