The recent atrocity in Illinois is a loss for the entire world. It shows us the power of the media. Of unchecked hate. We are supposed to be a nation of religious freedom. People should not live in fear of existing in their own homes. Tonight, in our small way, we light candles in solidarity and grief. Please take a few moments to meditate or pray in your own way, or plan how you might support your neighbors at the receiving end of these attacks. How can we show them they're not alone? How can we show them their ideas and beliefs and lives matter just as much as ours?
