Zoey, a mother of four, struggled to make ends meet while working two jobs and caring for her sick mother and younger sister. With no reliable transportation and limited time, she couldn’t fully support her children’s education or attend parent-teacher conferences.

The Children’s Cabinet stepped in, providing weekly food deliveries, holiday meals and gifts, subsidized childcare, and case management, along with referrals for SNAP and local food pantries. With this support, Zoey reduced her workload to one full-time job and gained time to focus on her children.

Today, Zoey is thriving, and her family is on a path toward a brighter future.

Through The Children’s Cabinet’s wraparound case management, families receive personalized support by working with a case manager to identify needs, set family-centered goals, and access resources like food, education, healthcare, and financial guidance, helping build stability, independence, and stronger family relationships.

This week, The Children’s Cabinet staff proudly wore green in support of Mental Health Awareness Month and the Be Seen in Green campaign, because mental health awareness and access to resources support stronger outcomes for the children and families in our communities.

Be Seen in Green is a nationwide initiative that encourages people to wear green as a visible reminder to break the stigma around mental health and spark meaningful conversations. Green represents renewal, hope, and wellness, powerful symbols of the support and healing we want everyone to feel.
