Big changes ahead!
Starting Wednesday, July 12, we're moving walk-in service at our metro offices from Saturdays to Wednesdays.
WHY? Because we're able to help our walk-in customers better on weekdays when we have normal staffing levels. We also have additional resources available from our Monday-through-Friday office staff who can offer specialized help with key issues.
WHAT ABOUT SATURDAYS? Customers will now be able to book appointments for Saturdays beginning July 15.
HOW WILL THIS WORK? Customers requiring walk-in service can
arrive at a DMV office during normal business hours on Wednesday and receive a ticket with a return time. Upon returning at the correct time with that ticket, they'll be entered into the queue and given a call number. THERE IS NO BENEFIT TO LINING UP IN THE EARLY MORNING. There are often lulls in foot traffic after the initial rushes.
FUN FACTS: The bulk of our present walk-in customer base is being seen for transactions that can often be completed online. Moving permits, registration renewals, DL renewals, duplicates, etc. are all available on our website: https://dmv.nv.gov/onlineservices.htm

BIG NEWS: The Nevada DMV is going appointment-only! Starting Monday, Aug. 15, most walk-ins who do not reserve a time slot will not be accepted at major metro offices around the state. The decision is part of a broader DMV effort to move customers online, not in line. It also comes amid ongoing staff shortages and a surge in demand that added to long lines at many locations. DMV officials will a hold press conference at noon on Wednesday, Aug. 10. More info here: https://dmv.nv.gov/news/22008-appointments-only.htm
