PFAS, often called "forever chemicals," can make their way into groundwater and can't be detected by taste or smell. Testing is the only way to know if they're present in your water.

NNPH Well Testing Program is sampling eligible private residential wells in Washoe County for the presence of PFAS. Our team collects the samples, sends them to a lab for analysis, and shares the results with homeowners.

To learn more about PFAS or the Well Testing Program, visit our website at www.nnph.org/PFAS

June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month. 💜

The District Board of Health recently recognized this important observance with a proclamation presented to Alzheimer's Association - Northern California and Northern Nevada. We are grateful for their partnership and leadership in promoting brain health and supporting dementia risk reduction efforts across Northern Nevada.

Together, we can help raise awareness, support those affected by Alzheimer’s disease, and encourage healthy habits that promote brain health throughout our community.

We're pleased to have received a District Board of Health proclamation for Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness Month from Northern Nevada Public Health. We're working together to promote brain health and dementia risk reduction in Northern Nevada and will be convening community partners to join us later in the year.

Today is ***coDay 🚭

To***co and ni****ne companies deliberately design their products to hook you.
Sugars, flavors, and cooling agents all mask the harshness of ni****ne so you inhale more, and get addicted faster.

But the grip of addiction can be broken. And the benefits are felt almost immediately:
⏱️ In 20 minutes, your heart rate drops
🫁 2–12 weeks, your lung function improves
❤️ In 1 year, heart disease risk is cut in half
