Habitat for Humanity Seattle - King County A world where everyone has a decent place to live.

While best known for our traditional model of building houses using primarily volunteer labor and selling them at cost to working families whose income is less than 60% of the area median income, we also repair and preserve existing housing stock to keep low-income homeowners in safe, decent, affordable housing. Habitat’s ultimate goal is to transform lives and communities not just through housing itself, but by actively engaging the community to help improve neighborhoods themselves.

We're still not over this night! A little look back at our second annual A Full House for Habitat Gala, where we raised $300,000, making it our most successful fundraising event in Kittitas County to date!

From the live auction to the dessert dash, it was a night full of generosity, great company and plenty of fun. Already counting down to next year! 🤠

🏡 Seattle budget season is here, and we need your help to make affordable homeownership a priority!

We're calling for $25 million a year for 10 years for affordable homeownership in Seattle's 2027–2028 budget. That's $250 million in city funding that could leverage roughly $1 billion in permanently affordable homes, bringing in approximately $4 for every $1 the city invests. Seattle City Council votes November 20, so the time to speak up is NOW!

📣 Make your voice heard! Tell City Council that affordable homeownership matters: https://habitatforhumanityseattle.quorum.us/campaign/169444/

Meet Tim B., who has been volunteering with Habitat SKKC since 1998! From building homes in South Park to helping communities rebuild after natural disasters across the country, Tim has spent nearly three decades showing up, lending a hand and making lasting friendships.

Now, as he wraps up his time volunteering on construction sites, his Habitat journey has come full circle, ending right where it began: South Park.

Today and always, we're celebrating Tim's incredible legacy and all the people, places and memories that made it special. Read his story in our latest blog post! https://www.habitatskc.org/volunteer-spotlight-tim-b/

Remember that Lowe’s Repair Grant we shared last month? Well, we put it to good work! 🏠🔨

For Mike and Janice, that meant making their home easier and safer to move through. With support from Lowe's Home Improvement, our Repair Team got to work installing new flooring, adding accessibility features including a ramp and grab bars, and making updates throughout their home to better meet their needs. This is what home repair can look like: practical changes that make a real difference in how someone lives in their home every day.

A huge thank you to Lowe’s for helping make this work possible and supporting safer, more accessible homes in our community.

Last week, we gathered at Town Hall Seattle for The Future of Affordable Housing, bringing together community members, housing leaders and advocates for a conversation about where we go from here. 🏡

A huge thank you to our panelists, everyone who joined us, and to and U.S. Bank, our Signature Sponsor, for helping make the evening possible. After 40 years of building, we’re excited to keep asking big questions, sharing ideas and imagining what the next 40 can look like. 💙
