# The Hands That Built Our World
Honor the elders who walked before us,
who carried dreams in weathered hands,
who knew the meaning of sacrifice
and built tomorrow from what they had.
They raised families, worked long days,
loved through hardship, laughed through tears,
and gathered a lifetime of stories
within the quiet lines upon their faces.
Their hands may move a little slower now,
their footsteps may not be what they were,
but every wrinkle holds a chapter,
every scar remembers where they've been.
They taught us how to keep going,
how to forgive, how to love,
how to find joy in simple moments
and strength when life gets tough.
So let us sit beside them,
and listen when they speak.
For the stories they carry
are treasures we should seek.
Our elders are more than yesterday—
they are the roots beneath our feet,
the wisdom in our history,
the heartbeat of every family we meet.
May we honor them with patience,
with kindness, time, and grace,
and remind them every day
that they still have a special place.
For one day, we will look behind us
and understand what they have given.
And may we be remembered, too,
for helping them feel loved, valued, and forgiven.
Honor our elders.
Listen to their stories.
Cherish their presence.
For they helped build the world we live in today.
