On the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, I represent the Hunter Mill District that includes Reston, Vienna, and all or part of five Silver Line Metrorail stations and transit station areas. I was thrilled to join the residents of Waterford Square Condo to cut the ribbon on their brand-new EV charger! ✂️🎉

They installed it with help from Charge Up Fairfax, a fantastic program offering technical and financial support to HOAs, places of worship, and local nonprofits looking to make the switch to electric.

Fun fact: Hunter Mill District communities make up 47% of all participants in this countywide effort! 👏

Big kudos to Fairfax County Office of Environmental and Energy Coordination for leading the charge⚡ to help our communities lower their carbon emissions and save money on gas!

It was an absolute honor to present Reston-based Gin Dance Company with a proclamation recognizing 16 incredible years of artistic excellence! 🩰✨

By beautifully blending Eastern influences with Western contemporary dance, Gin Dance enriched Fairfax County’s vibrant culture and elevated the arts in our region—drawing top national and international talent to our community.

A huge thank you to Founder & Artistic Director Shu-Chen Cuff, Executive Director Gary Cuff, and all the brilliant dancers for your dedication and creative vision! 👏

As adult-use cannabis sales kick off statewide on July 1, the Board of Supervisors is taking steps to prepare our county.🌿🚬

Here is what we’re doing:
📍 Local Tax Rate: We directed staff to draft an ordinance by this spring setting our local tax rate at 3.5% — the maximum allowed under state law.
📍 Zoning: Staff will prepare a zoning ordinance for our review to establish clear guidelines on where retail stores can operate, something I called for earlier this year.

Up to 350 retail cannabis stores will be permitted across Virginia by state law. Stay tuned.

I spoke out tonight in opposition to the NextEra Energy's purchase of Dominion. I have serious concerns for a number of reasons, including higher electricity rates for our residents and businesses.

If approved, the company would become the world's largest electric utility, moving us even further from any relationship with our community and local elected officials. With an out-of-state utility in charge, I fear things may get worse, maybe much worse.

Thanks to Stop NextEra and everyone who came out to testify at the Virginia State Corporation Commission's public hearing at the Fairfax County Government Center. In August, I called for the SCC to hold a regional, in-person hearing, and I'm glad they listened. Now, let's hope they look out for the interests of our residents and businesses.

I’m living healthier now and I will live longer, thanks to the Reston YMCA!🏋️‍♂️💙

For a quarter-century, they've has been extending and enriching lives across our community—from summer camps and after-school enrichment to senior programs and over $2 million in financial assistance to ensure fitness and connection remain accessible to all families.

This is why I was proud to present a proclamation to the to honor the Reston YMCA on its 25th anniversary

Car Tax Payments Just Easier🚗

While no one likes paying taxes, Fairfax County is making it easier, faster and more convenient.

Try the new self-service kiosk at North County Governmental Center. Pay 24/7 with cash, check, or card instead of waiting in line at the tax counter.

📆 Don't forget—taxes are due Oct 5!

A Bigger & Better Reston Community Center Coming? 🏗️✨

The Board of Supervisors approved a land-use change that opens the door for a new, larger Reston Community Center to be included in the redevelopment of the Crescent Apartments.

A future center’s size and scope depends on how much it’s going to cost, and RCC’s ability to absorb it.

Because RCC is critical to revitalizing Lake Anne, I’ve asked that they plan for a continued presence there.

As the the South Lakes Football team takes on the Herndon Hornets on Friday, donate to the South Lakes High School PTSA food pantry when you attend the game. They especially need:

🪥 toothbrushes
👃deodorant
🌰 granola, protein bars, individual trail mix packs, nuts & jerky

Drop off items at the picnic area by the stadium parking lot or main ticket gate.

The pantry makes a real difference, feeding 250 students and 200 families weekly.
