October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month ๐, a time to recognize those impacted by domestic violence, remember those whose lives have been lost and reaffirm our commitment to supporting victims and survivors.
Domestic violence can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, background or circumstance. For law enforcement, our responsibility extends beyond responding to an incident; it includes treating victims with dignity and compassion ๐ค, recognizing patterns of abuse and coercive control, connecting individuals and families with available resources and holding offenders accountable when the law permits โ๏ธ.
Throughout October, the Revere Police Department stands with victims and survivors of domestic violence and with the advocates, service providers and community partners who work every day to provide safety, support and hope ๐๏ธ.
If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, help is available. ๐ In an emergency, call 911 ๐จ.
The National Domestic Violence Hotline is available 24 hours a day:
