Last night, Detective Teague had the opportunity to provide online safety training to leaders from across Eastern Idaho and Western Montana at the invitation of Feki Pouha, Welfare and Self-Reliance Manager and Director for the Temporal Affairs Office, United States Central Area, of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Detective Teague shared insight from his work with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, including current online threats facing children and teens, practical online safety habits, resources available to parents and leaders, and steps families can take to better protect children in an increasingly digital world.
The presentation concluded with a Q&A, giving attendees an opportunity to ask questions and discuss some of the challenges they are seeing in their own families and communities.
We appreciate opportunities like this to get beyond the statistics and have meaningful conversations about what our kids are encountering online and, more importantly, what parents and trusted adults can do about it.
If your church, school, parent group, organization, or community would benefit from a presentation like this, we would be happy to come to you.
Contact the Madison County Sheriff’s Office to learn more or schedule an online safety presentation. We would love the opportunity to bring this training to your group.
