⛈️ WEATHER ALERT | THUNDERSTORMS & RAIN EXPECTED 🌧️

The Rialto Fire Department is encouraging residents to prepare for changing weather conditions as a storm system moves into the Inland Empire beginning Wednesday night and continuing through Thursday into Friday morning.

A cold front is expected to bring the possibility of thunderstorms, periods of heavy rainfall, and gusty winds. Some areas could receive an inch or more of rain.

⚠️ STORM SAFETY REMINDERS:

🌧️ Stay Alert: Monitor weather forecasts and be prepared for rapidly changing conditions.

🚗 Drive Safely: Slow down, increase your following distance, and avoid driving through flooded roadways.

💨 Secure Outdoor Items: Gusty winds may cause unsecured objects to become airborne.

🚫 Turn Around, Don't Drown: Never attempt to drive or walk through flooded streets, washes, or underpasses.

🏠 Be Prepared: Clear debris from storm drains around your property and have emergency supplies readily available.

Although no flood watches or wind warnings had been issued as of Monday morning, conditions can change as the storm approaches.

🚒 Your Rialto firefighters are ready to respond when needed. Help us keep our community safe by staying informed and taking precautions before the storm arrives.

Stay safe, Rialto! ❤️🚒

🚒 NEW REMS UTV UNIT DEPLOYED! 🌧️🚨

The Rialto Fire Department is proud to announce the launch of our new Rapid Extraction Module Support (REMS) UTV Unit, enhancing our ability to respond to emergencies in difficult-to-access areas throughout our community.

With Rialto’s washes, flood channels, and rugged terrain, this specialized unit allows our crews to access areas where traditional emergency vehicles may be limited, improving rescue capabilities and emergency response during severe weather and other critical incidents.

🌧️ PREPARING FOR THE STORM

Ahead of the anticipated heavy rainfall, our REMS team is already in the field assessing conditions in local washes, flood channels, and underpasses.

Crews are proactively making contact with individuals experiencing homelessness in these high-risk areas, encouraging them to relocate to higher ground and checking for anyone who may be trapped or in immediate danger.

⚠️ REMEMBER: TURN AROUND, DON’T DROWN!

Flash flooding can develop quickly, even in areas that appear dry. We urge everyone to stay clear of washes, flood channels, and flooded roadways during periods of heavy rainfall.

At the Rialto Fire Department, preparation starts before the emergency. Our commitment is to protect lives, reduce risks, and keep our community safe.

🚨 STRUCTURE FIRE | CLUB ROYALE APARTMENTS 🚒

On Monday, October 5th, at approximately 12:00 PM, the Rialto Fire Department responded to a structure fire at the Club Royale apartment complex.

Due to the severity of the incident, the fire was upgraded to a two-alarm response, bringing significant resources to the scene, including 10 fire engines, two ladder trucks, chief officers, and additional support personnel.

Firefighters worked diligently to bring the fire under control. Unfortunately, the building, which consisted of 16 apartment units housing approximately 43 residents, sustained significant fire, smoke, and water damage.

As a result, all 16 apartment units have been red-tagged, leaving approximately 43 residents displaced and unable to return to their homes.

❤️ OUR COMMUNITY COMES FIRST

Recognizing the immediate needs of those affected, the Rialto City Council and City Manager approved emergency funding to provide hotel accommodations for displaced residents.

The Rialto Fire Department extends its thoughts and support to the families impacted by this devastating incident. We understand the challenges these residents now face and remain committed to supporting our community during difficult times.

We would also like to recognize the dedication and coordinated efforts of all responding firefighters and emergency personnel who worked tirelessly to bring this incident under control.

Working together, for Rialto 🚒❤️
