Rib Lake School District

Last weekend, Rib Lake music instructors Laura Hoffert, Jayden Gustafson, and Alliyah Treu attended the Wisconsin School Music Association (WSMA) and Wisconsin Music Educators Association's (WMEA) Music Educators Conference in Madison. While there, they attended several music-specific professional development sessions that allowed them to grow as educators.

During this same time, we had two students in the WSMA honors ensembles — Lucas Andersen was a bass in the WSMA's middle level honors choir and Tava Smith played flute in the WSMA's high school honors band.

It was a great weekend of learning and growing for both our staff and students!

We love our Eddie! 🐾

Animals have been known to help children relax and One local school district has implemented the use of a therapy dog for its students.

Each month, Medford Cooperative, Inc. generously donates $0.03 of every gallon of gas purchased from the Rib Lake Pride Pump (pumps 3 and 4) to the Rib Lake School District.

All proceeds from the month of November will support the choir program and our chapter of Future Business Leaders of America.

As always, we thank Medford Cooperative for their support of our students and schools!

This past weekend, our boys cross country team wrapped up the fall sports season at the WIAA State Cross Country Championships in Wisconsin Rapids! This was the third year in a row our boys team advanced to State, but this year, they were competing against Division 2 teams about five times the size of Rib Lake.

Performances for our runners in the field of 152 included:

Henry Regier, 10th place (16:01)
Jackson Schutt, 59th place (17:19)
Seamus Highfill, 73rd place (17:27)
Dene Zuleger, 91st place (17:41)
Jeremy Wiitala, 125th place (18:30)
Waylon Thielke, 146th place (19:36)

After mile two in the 3.1-mile race, the Hawks were standing at 13th place, but during the third mile, not a single one of our runners got passed! Instead, they passed a total of 38 runners during this time to earn a 9th place finish.

Henry Regier’s 10th place finish earned him a spot on the state podium and a place on the all-state team as he placed among the top 25 runners in the meet across all divisions.

Congratulations on another spectacular season, boys! You make Rib Lake proud!

This past week, our high school Farm to Table students visited We Grow, a produce farm in Westboro. The owners gave students a tour of the farm, explained the farm’s features, and discussed how agricultural science is used. Students even had the chance to harvest some produce for them to use in class!

As a reminder, there is no school tomorrow due to teacher record keeping and collaboration.

We’re officially through the first quarter! 👏
