Great news!
May 28, 2019 we will speak at the Dallas jail at the invitation of Prison Fellowship ministry on domestic violence prevention, making safe and sane choices, and faith-filled success tips by AADVP founder Margie Downey in her becoming an overcomer of abuse and violence.
We had a wonderful speaking event on March 30, 2019 in Irving, TX in conjunction with Joy Restored Outreach. We brought all three board members to speak on what helped them survive abuse and violence, had info tables, were on a featured panel, interacted with the public including current and past victims of violence, and networked for future service opportunities. This day was special in having a strong Christian faith emphasis by many of the speakers, including us.
Things have been quiet lately as we focused on fundraising and growing the board of directors the last few months. Please contact us through our web site abigailsangels.org for safety assistance personally or for speaking events, charitable donations, or for volunteering. We are learning to use Facebook and trying to get a collegiate on board, who is handy with Facebook to help with regular posts here. Thanks for your patience while we learn and grow and add talent!
We recently met at Plano, TX on the campus of Collin College and discussed domestic violence prevention with 700 students at a Dignity Initiative/ "Dancing for Dignity" event. We got another radio broadcast invitation from one participant and offers for social media video clips production from another, too! Best of all was the one-on-one visiting with victims who got out of violent relationships recently, or those loved ones who were worried about friends and family and asking us for tips and guidance of HOW TO HELP! It was a great day.
In providing assistance to a homeless domestic violence victim 1-29-15, we were observed in action and accidentally overheard by an incognito, local radio personality. He asked us for a radio interview soon to tell more about Abigail's Archangels Domestic Violence Prevention. He has two radio shows and possibly a TV show he could use to open doors to us. More news will follow as it unfolds on those opportunities.
We are mailing new grant applications and appreciate your prayers for success as we are considered for their support.
I attended a Stronger Than Espresso booth in McKinney at a big volunteer fair and enjoyed hearing the brave story of Brooke, their founder. We are connecting even more with other groups reaching out to women with hope, faith, courage, and resources and action steps. Brooke is a dynamo!
