Looking back on 2025, we saw many obstacles, but we also continued to make many impacts. We couldn't have done that alone. Join us in celebrating the difference we made together!
Our vision is a world where everyone has food, voice, and a safe place to call home.

Did you know you can shop to support your refugee neighbors? CWS Dallas just launched an online store where 70% of the profit goes directly to serving newcomer families in your Dallas neighborhood. You can give the gift of welcome this season with items from our shop, or a direct donation on someone’s behalf! Even committing to $5-20 a month can make a huge difference in someone’s life. Check out the link in our bio and stories!

Give today to stand with your refugee and immigrant neighbors. If just 60 people set up a recurring gift of $50 a month, we'd reach our goal. Donate now at www.cwsdallas.org/donate. If you can't give today, still stand with your neighbors by sharing this post. Give the gift of welcome.

Our Refugee Support Services Employment Team in Dallas proudly participated last month in the job fair hosted by Gateway of Grace and Workforce Solutions at the Wilkinson Center. It was a great opportunity to connect with ORR-eligible job seekers and community partners! .of.grace.community

Celebrating Veteran's Day by saying thank you to all those who have bravely and selflessly served our country--including the thousands of Afghans who supported the US military in Afghanistan and who CWS Dallas has had the honor of welcoming here to America to continue to be a part of our community. We are grateful for your service!

CWS Dallas is working to support our refugee neighbors as they prepare for the impacts of SNAP benefits to pause come November 1st. For refugee families newly arrived to the US, access to SNAP benefits can be life saving while they are getting on their feet. Donate, share, or volunteer to join our fight to support the Dallas community.

Happy Diwali! We recognize Diwali as a celebration of light -- also known as the Festival of Lights, it is one of the most important Hindu festivals celebrated across India and many other parts of the world. It symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. In Hinduism, the festival marks the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile and his triumph over the demon king Ravana. People celebrate by lighting diyas, lighting fireworks, decorating their homes, and sharing sweets with family and friends. Diwali is also a time for spiritual reflection, renewal, and spreading joy, unity, and hope in the community. See here one of our team members celebrating! If you're recognizing Diwali, how are you celebrating today?

Today on October 13th, we recognize the first peoples who called this land home, and their continued fight for their voices to be heard. This day serves to recognize the resilience, sovereignty, and rich cultures of indigenous peoples. Here in Dallas, we honor the Tawakoni, Comanche, Kickapoo, Wichita, and Jumanos peoples who first called this soil home. Explore the indigenous history of land around the world at www.native-land.ca

At CWS, we believe strongly that the job of welcoming our neighbors can't be done alone. We wouldn't be who we are without the support of our community and partners! On Friday our team had the opportunity to give back to one of our longstanding partners, Trinity Fellowship Church, by working in their community garden, which soon will be producing fruits and vegetables for the newcomers we serve. It was a good day!
August 15th marks 4 years since the fall of Kabul. Two weeks later U.S. forces would complete the withdrawal from Afghanistan, leaving many at risk for standing with U.S. military and civilian personnel. Since then, millions of Afghan individuals and families were forced to flee their homes and seek refuge around the world, with over 175,000 relocating to the United States via humanitarian parole, the Special Immigrant Visa program, the refugee admissions program, and other pathways. Read one woman's thoughts on today's anniversary as her and her family were able to resettle to the US just a few months ago.
