Serving: Crawford, La Crosse, Richland, & Vernon Counties

The Regional Livestock Educator will work with producers in their service area to identify needs and deliver research-based solutions to help them meet their goals. This position will cover Crawford, La Crosse, Richland and Vernon Counties, geography may expand in the future.

Herbicide Fate Workshop – October 1, 2026 in Madison

A free Herbicide Fate Workshop on Thursday, October 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Dane County Extension Office (5201 Fen Oak Drive, Madison).

This practical, science-based workshop is designed for crop consultants, agricultural retailers, industry representatives, Extension educators, and w**d science academic staff and graduate students who want a deeper understanding of how herbicides behave after application, and how that knowledge can inform better w**d management decisions.

Friday, August 28: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Little Britches Showmanship! - The 45th Annual Little Britches Showmanship to be held at the Richland County Fair on Sunday, September 13 at 11:00 a.m. in the Show Barn.

Open to all youth with a minimum age of 3 up to a maximum age of 8 or 2nd grade as of January 1, 2026. The animals must be born on or after March 1, 2026.

Participants must sign up by calling the Extension Richland County Office at 647-6148 by August 31.

**Important Location Change for County Board Meeting**

The August 18, 2026 Richland County Board meeting will be held at The Phoenix Center, 100 S. Orange Street, Richland Center, Wisconsin.

The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. The meeting location has been changed due to significant community interest in the Transmission Line Resolution.

The County will make every effort to provide an online option for residents who are unable to attend in person. However, because of the last-minute change in location, it may not be possible to offer an online meeting option.

Richland County appreciates the community's interest and understanding regarding this last-minute location change.
