Congratulations to Kim Lettrick, Communications Manager at Benton County Emergency Services (BCES/SECOMM), on receiving the 2026 Golden Headset Legacy Achievement Award!

The Golden Headset Awards recognize public safety communications professionals from around the world who demonstrate exceptional leadership, dedication, and service. The Legacy Achievement Award honors those whose impact extends far beyond the communications center and Kim is a perfect example.

Since beginning her career as a 911 telecommunicator in 1987, Kim has devoted nearly four decades to serving our community, mentoring future leaders, and advancing the emergency communications profession. Her vision for Washington State's CAMP911 wellness retreat has created a lasting resource that supports the mental, physical, and emotional well-being of 911 professionals across the state.

Kim's servant leadership, compassion, and commitment to others have left an incredible legacy, not only within BCES/SECOMM, but throughout Washington's 911 community.

Please join us in congratulating Kim on this well-deserved international recognition! We are proud to celebrate her remarkable career and the difference she continues to make every day.

Thank you BCFD1 for thinking of us!

Dispatchers are juggling a lot of calls over the Fourth of July weekend. Let’s help ‘em out by only calling 911 when there is an emergency threatening lives or property.

Before you celebrate, take a moment to Know Before You Glow.
Fire chiefs from across the Tri-Cities are joining together with one important message: fireworks laws vary by community, and knowing the rules helps keep everyone safe.

Whether you're celebrating in Richland, Kennewick, Pasco, West Richland, or elsewhere in Benton and Franklin counties, take a few minutes to learn what's legal where you live, follow safe handling practices, and help protect your family, neighbors, and first responders.

Celebrate responsibly. Celebrate safely.
