Training is how we sharpen our skills, build teamwork, and stay prepared for whatever emergency comes our way. 🚒

🔥🚒 DAY 9 OF FIRE PREVENTION MONTH!🚒🔥

🧺 Today's Fire Safety Tip: DON'T FORGET ABOUT YOUR DRYER!

Did you know that something as simple as forgetting to clean your dryer's lint trap can create a serious fire hazard? 😱🔥

Here are a few tips to keep your home safe!

✅ Clean your lint trap before or after EVERY load!

✅ Keep the area around your dryer free of clutter.

✅ Have your dryer vent and exhaust duct cleaned regularly.

✅ Never leave your dryer running when you're away from home or sleeping.

✅ If your clothes are taking longer than normal to dry, check for a clogged vent!

🚨 REMEMBER: A little lint may not seem like a big deal, but it can lead to a BIG problem!

❤️ Today's Challenge: When was the last time you checked your dryer vent? If you can't remember, it might be time!

🔥 DAY 7 OF FIRE PREVENTION MONTH🔥

🏠 Do you have a fire escape plan?

When a fire starts, you may only have a short amount of time to get everyone out safely. That’s why every household should have a plan before an emergency happens!

🚪 Know two ways out of every room.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Pick a meeting place outside where everyone knows to go.
🚒 Once you’re out, STAY OUT! Never go back inside a burning home.
📅 Practice your escape plan with the entire family at least twice a year

Make sure children know what the smoke alarm sounds like and what to do when they hear it. A few minutes of practice today could make all the difference during a real emergency.

🔌 Don’t Overload Your Outlets!

Extension cords and power strips make life convenient, but using them incorrectly can create a serious fire hazard.

⚡ Never plug multiple power strips into each other.
⚡ Replace cords that are cracked, frayed, or damaged.
⚡ Never run extension cords underneath rugs or furniture.
⚡ Extension cords are meant for temporary use, not permanent wiring.
⚡ High-powered appliances should be plugged directly into a wall outlet.

Take a few minutes today to check the cords and power strips around your home. If something looks damaged or overloaded, replace it before it becomes a problem.

⚡ Charge Into Fire Safety!⚡

This year’s Fire Prevention Week theme is “Charge into Fire Safety™: Safe Charging Is a Superpower.”🦸‍♂️🔋

We use rechargeable devices every single day—phones, tablets, laptops, power tools, toys, e-bikes, and more. Most of these devices use lithium-ion batteries, and when they’re damaged or charged improperly, they can become a serious fire hazard.

🦸 Use your charging superpowers:
🔌 Use the charger that came with your device or one approved by the manufacturer.
🛏️ Never charge devices on beds, couches, or under pillows.
🔥 Stop using a battery if it becomes unusually hot, swollen, starts smoking, or gives off a strange smell.
🔋 Unplug devices once they’re fully charged.
🚪 Keep larger battery-powered items away from exits while charging.

A few simple charging habits can make a BIG difference in preventing fires.

🔥 NATIONAL FIRE PREVENTION WEEK 2026🔥
October 4–10

Today officially kicks off National Fire Prevention Week!🚒 This year’s theme is:

⚡ “Charge into Fire Safety: Safe Charging is a Superpower™” ⚡

This year’s campaign focuses on safely charging the lithium-ion battery-powered devices we use every day—from phones and tablets to power tools, e-bikes, and more. Simple charging habits can make a BIG difference in preventing fires! 🔋🔥

But have you ever wondered why we recognize Fire Prevention Week in October?

🔥 It dates back to the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, which began on October 8 and caused most of its devastation on October 9. The catastrophic fire destroyed thousands of buildings, left approximately 100,000 people homeless, and claimed hundreds of lives.

The tragedy helped bring greater attention to the importance of fire prevention, fire safety, and public education. Fire Prevention Week is observed each year during the week that includes October 9 in remembrance of the Great Chicago Fire and the lessons learned from it.

More than 150 years later, the message remains just as important:

PREVENTION SAVES LIVES. ❤️🔥

We got raffles, pumpkin painting and even Sparky is here! We will be doing the drawing for the raffles at 1:30PM.

We got raffle tickets for 2 bikes, a wreath, a free photoshoot, a hair care basket and fish and tackle stuff!! Make sure you come get some raffle tickets!!
