BEMA had the pleasure of visiting the 4th Grade GATE students at Francis Meeks Elementary School to discuss hurricane preparedness, flooding, and the importance of building resilient communities! 🏠⛈️

Students have recently been learning about Hurricane Katrina, including the devastating levee breaches and overtopping, and have been putting their knowledge to the test by designing and testing their own levee systems! 🏗️💡

We loved seeing their curiosity, creativity, and enthusiasm as they connected classroom lessons to real-world emergency management. A huge thank you to Francis Meeks Elementary School for inviting BEMA into the classroom. It's never too early to learn about preparedness!
