There were moments today at the Special Olympics USA Games that made you jump out of your seat. There were also moments that stung. Tears, tight hugs, high fives after hard-fought finishes. Day 2 had all of it.

That's sport. It doesn't promise you anything. You train, you prepare, you show up, and sometimes the result still doesn't go your way. You don't get to take the good without the challenge.
What matters is how you keep showing up, for your teammates, for everyone back home pulling for you, for Virginia.

Today, this team did that.

That's right, Team Virginia's own Conner Emmert just made it on ESPN's SportsCenter! 🏆

Conner is here in Minneapolis representing Virginia at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games and now the whole country gets to see what we already knew, he's a star. We couldn't be prouder to have him in our delegation.

Day 1 in of the Special Olympics USA Games is in the books.

Every Team Virginia squad hit the floor, the pool, and the field today for final practice sessions before competition officially opens tomorrow. Last looks at the venue, last adjustments to strategy, last reps before it counts.

Yesterday, our delegation traveled 1,056 miles from Dulles to Minneapolis, touching down and ready to compete at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games.

Tonight, they'll march out representing Virginia in front of a thousands. Catch them at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN+ or Disney+.

It's late, but Team Virginia has officially touched down in Minneapolis for the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games!

All 57 athletes arrived wearing Virginia proudly, ready to represent and make the Commonwealth proud.

Tyler Bernreuther doesn't have a lot of free time. On any given week you'll find him at Boy Scouts on Mondays, pickleball on Tuesdays, swimming on Wednesdays, golf on Thursdays, dance on Fridays, back in the pool on Saturdays, and bowling on Sundays. And that doesn't even include the marching band, his weekly volunteering at Loudoun County Animal Services, or working toward his Eagle Scout rank.

All of that work is about to pay off. Tyler is one of 57 athletes on Team Virginia heading to the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games in Minneapolis, where he'll compete in swimming. Watch his story above.
