Congratulations, Prosecutor Mike Shipman, on your retirement. Thank you for your years of service and dedication to Wayne County and to the State of Indiana. Good luck in your endeavors in private law practice.

Also congratulations to newly appointed Wayne County Prosecutor, Ashley Green, who will also be elected to that position, by the voters of Wayne County, on November 3rd. All the best to you as well, Madam Prosecutor.

As a current judicial officer (Commissioner) and candidate for Judge of Wayne Superior Court No. 2, I pledge to maintain the integrity, independence, and impartiality of the judiciary. For the system to be just and fair and to work the way it should, everyone involved must be competent, upright, and honorable, no matter what role they play, and I appreciate when good people step up to take on these roles. So, again, thank you Prosecutors Shipman and Ashley Green for all that you have done and will continue to do in your respective roles within our legal community.

I'd like to give a heartfelt congratulations to Representative Dr. Brad Barrett on receiving the Sagamore of the Wabash Award from Governor Braun, presented to him by his friend and colleague, Senator Jeff Raatz. Laurie, Bo, my mom, and I, along with the rest of Team Shadle and the Wayne County Republicans, had a good time at the Centerville Archway Days Parade. Admittedly, it was an emotional and sorrowful start to the day, as our leader, Rick Armstrong was laid to rest. I struggled with even participating in the parade at all, but I settled on the thought that Rick would have wanted me to press on, and Rick's wife, Dixie, gave her approval and blessing. We had great weather, Chad Scalf and his design team at Primex created a wonderful float, and I was able to meet several new folks and see a lot of familiar faces.

Thank you to Myron and Sara Jane Guthrie Moyer for hosting the float building and assembly and for providung the hay wagon and storing and pulling the float.

I am grateful to have known Rick. He was a brother in Christ and a friend, and he was of course my campaign manager. I asked Rick to be my campaign manager, because he was someone I could trust completely and without question, Dixie as well. He was a generous, faithful and loyal friend, and in this life, I will miss him. And I will miss his big smile and positive attitude and his sage advice. Please keep Dixie and their children and family in your hearts and in your prayers. In the days and weeks ahead, please check in on Dixie as you are able. I'm sure she would appreciate our love and continued support.

Earnest prayers for our friends and neighbors in Wayne County affected by the storms and severe flooding, especially those in Hagerstown and Cambridge City. I'm heartbroken for you; we all are. But even in the face of trouble, there is an unrelenting spirit here of togetherness, grit, determination, and generosity.... and of faith, hope, and love. We stand with you and with the first responders and workers answering the call. Together, we will overcome.
