Did you know lifeguards significantly reduce water related hazards—but don’t replace adult supervision?

Lifeguards have a limited area they monitor and mainly focus on prevention and emergency response. Parental supervision is still the best layer of water safety you can provide. Did you know cold water can disable muscles in minutes?

Cold water (below 70°F) can cause rapid muscle fatigue and cold shock, even in strong swimmers. Did you know swimming in lakes after heavy rain can be unsafe?

Runoff after storms can carry bacteria, debris, and contaminants into lakes and rivers. Did you know most inflatable flotation toys aren’t actual safety devices?

Common items like water wings, inflatable rings, and pool noodles are toys—not life saving equipment. They can deflate, slip off, or give a false sense of security.
