❇️ Home Visitor Highlight ❇️

Sonia has been partnering with families in our Growing Well program for over a year now and has truly been so supportive of the parents and children she serves. Here's what her supervisor has to say about her commitment to serving families:

"Sonia shows up each day motivated and focused on providing the best experience possible for her families. She inspires others to stand up for what is right and while also maintaining a positive outlook. Sonia regularly demonstrates the value of SUPPORT not only through her encouragement with families to believe in themselves , but also through her willingness to step up for the team. Sonia has helped in many ways such as covering families temporarily, assisting with training/shadow visits, or just being a listening ear, which is much appreciated!" - Sedonnah, Henrico Healthy Families Program Manager

Sonia was also our Bicycle Award winner last month! 🚲

Strong family relationships are a critical foundation for healthy childhood development. Whether through shared meals, conversations, play, reading, or other everyday moments, spending quality time together helps children build confidence, strengthen relationships, and develop a sense of security and belonging.

At Family Lifeline, we are committed to supporting families and caregivers because we know that strong families help create stronger communities.

This Family Day, we encourage everyone to make time for meaningful connection and celebrate the relationships that help children thrive.

Family connections play an important role in helping children grow and thrive. Whether it's sharing a meal, reading a favorite book, taking a walk, or simply spending time together, these moments help build strong relationships and support healthy childhood development.

Children benefit when they feel connected, supported, and loved by the adults in their lives. Those everyday interactions help foster confidence, emotional well-being, and resilience that can last a lifetime.

Today, Family Lifeline celebrates all families, caregivers, grandparents, and loved ones who make time to nurture meaningful connections with the children they care for.

💙 Take a moment today to unplug, connect, and enjoy time together. The memories you create today can have a lasting impact tomorrow.

🍂 Fall allergies can make asthma symptoms worse.

For many families in Richmond, this time of year brings more than cooler temperatures. Ragweed pollen and mold spores from fallen leaves can trigger asthma and allergy symptoms, making it harder for children living with asthma to stay healthy.

Through our Growing Well program, we offer asthma case management services for children and youth up to age 18. Our community health workers provide asthma education, support, and connections to resources that help families better manage asthma at home and in their communities.

If your child could benefit from asthma case management services, complete the referral form on our website to get started.

What does it mean to grow older without stable housing?

Join PositiveAge on November 10th for a community screening of "No Place to Grow Old." This film is a moving documentary that shares the stories of three older adults experiencing homelessness and housing instability.

After the screening, Partnership for Positive Aging will present Richmond-specific data on the housing challenges facing older adults in our community, followed by a panel discussion with local leaders.

This is an important opportunity to learn, connect, and be part of the conversation about how we can better support older adults in Richmond.
