We collect, prepare and distribute food across 29 counties and 5 cities to neighbors in need.

Feed More has been a part of the Central Virginia community for close to five decades. Meals on Wheels was established in 1967, where it served just eight clients. The Central Virginia Food Bank has been in operation since 1980 and was created by 60 local churches that were concerned about growing hunger and poverty in our region. In 2005, the Central Virginia Food Bank and Meals on Wheels came to

Richmond, you did it! πŸ¦πŸŽ‰

10,000 scoops served. One unforgettable afternoon at Monroe Park. And a powerful show of community support.

A heartfelt thank you to Moose Tracks Ice Cream, Mayfield Dairy Farms, celebrity scoopers Melissa Chase, GeNienne Samuels and everyone who joined us for the Moose Tracks 10,000 Scoop Challenge, and helped us reach our goal!

Thanks to your support, we can provide 40,000 wholesome meals to children, families, seniors and individuals right here in Central Virginia.

We loved seeing so many members of our community come together for ice cream, fun and a great cause. Thank you for making it such a memorable day! πŸ’š

What happens when an organization dedicated to helping others gets room to grow? The entire community benefits.πŸ’š

Congratulations to CRS - "Community Resource Services" on their new home in Lunenburg County, a milestone for an organization that has spent years serving neighbors with compassion and unwavering care!

In rural communities, trusted community hubs like CRS are lifelines, eliminating barriers to accessing needed support systems and a vital connection to resources that help neighbors thrive.

That's why CRS works across Lunenburg, Nottoway and surrounding counties, helping provide nutritious food and essential resources while treating every person with respect and kindness.

And this new space reflects the power of investing in community-driven solutions and those who make them possible.

So here's to new beginnings, expanded opportunities and continued work toward stronger, healthier communities for all!

Last week we were grateful to welcome a group of volunteers from Cristo Rey Richmond High School to Feed More!

The students spent their time helping to prepare diet-specific, medically tailored meals in our Bayard Community Kitchen, helping us provide the nourishment our region's seniors need to thrive.

Even more special: three of those students were returning volunteers, continuing to show up and give back to the community!

We’re always so inspired by young volunteers who bring positive energy, dedication and teamwork to our mission. Thank you, Cristo Rey, for spending time with us and making a meaningful impact for those we serve!

Behind every meal is a community that chooses to care for one another.

We’re grateful for the volunteers, donors, partners and supporters who help make this work possible every day. Together, we can continue building a future where every neighbor has access to the food and support they need. πŸ’š

Debbie doesn’t think of herself as doing anything extraordinary. But she is.

β€œI usually cook their meals and deliver them. It’s easier than handing over ingredients.”

Debbie cares for elderly relatives in their 70s and 80s who can no longer drive, making sure they still get a warm meal, a check-in and someone who shows up.

β€œWe try to grow our own food. Zucchini is coming in like crazy right now.”

Even with a garden and careful budgeting, rising food costs and a single income mean Debbie still leans on her local pantry to help make ends meet.

β€œI tell them, β€˜Help is okay.’ But some are still too proud.”

What Debbie hopes for her community is simple: that more older adults feel safe asking for help, and that no one has to choose between pride and a meal.

Because this is what community really is: people showing up for one another, without hesitation, without judgment and without anyone being left behind. πŸ’š

Last month, we quietly celebrated a decade of our Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP)!

Back in 2016, we distributed the very first CSFP boxes in Virginia, starting with just a few dozen seniors in Petersburg. Targeted to improve the health of seniors with low incomes, these boxes help supplement grocery budgets with nutritious staples like canned fruits and vegetables, proteins, cereals and more.

And today, the program reaches thousands of older adults across Central Virginia each month, helping ensure they have consistent access to the nutritious foods they need to thrive! Because we know that for many seniors living on fixed incomes, we know support from programs like this makes a meaningful difference, easing stress and creating greater stability at home.

A special thank you to the dedicated volunteers who help pack these boxes each month. Your time and compassion make it all possible!
