Today, we honor the working men and women who built this country and the generations of union members who fought for fair wages, safe working conditions, strong benefits, and a voice on the job.

As firefighters and paramedics, we know the strength of solidarity. We stand together on the job, at the bargaining table, and in the halls of government to protect working families and the communities we serve.

The fight for workers’ rights never takes a day off.

🔥 Union Strong. Worker Strong. Community Strong. ✊

Our members are committed to protecting our community both on and off the emergency scene.

Join us for our upcoming car seat check event, where certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will inspect your child’s car seat, ensure you’re able to install it correctly, and answer any questions you may have.

A properly installed car seat is one of the most effective ways to protect a child in the event of a crash.

We encourage everyone to take advantage of this free opportunity to help keep our youngest community members safe.

Happy 250th Anniversary of Independence Day! 🇺🇸

Today we celebrate 250 years of freedom and the privilege of calling this country home. We are grateful to live and serve in the land of the free.

While many are enjoying time with family and friends, remember that your firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, law enforcement officers, dispatchers, and so many others are on duty today to keep our communities safe.

As you celebrate, keep a few things in mind:
🇺🇸 Drive sober or designate a driver.
🎆 We prefer you keep all your fingers (and the rest of you) intact—practice firework safety.
🔥 We’re currently experiencing dry conditions, so be mindful of where you’re setting off fireworks and help prevent unnecessary fires.
🍔 We appreciate a good grill master as much as anyone—make sure your grill is in a safe location, well away from your home, and operated responsibly.

From all of us, have a safe and happy Fourth of July. We hope your day is filled with family, friends, freedom, and memories worth celebrating.

Happy Independence Day from Local 4664 ❤️🇺🇸💙

Today we honor Firefighter Buddy Hughes — his life, the love he had for his family, and the impact he made on those closest to him.

Buddy carried pain that became too heavy, and we recognize the silent battles so many face. Today, we honor not only the life he lived, but also the importance of continuing the conversation around mental health and making sure those who are struggling know they are not alone.

If you or someone you know is struggling, resources are available, and help is here.

If you are in immediate need of help:
• Call or text 988 for the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline
• Go to your local Emergency Department for a mental health evaluation
• If there is an immediate emergency, call 911

Firefighter/First Responder Support Resources:
• IAFF Center of Excellence – Treatment and recovery support for professional fire fighters and paramedics struggling with PTSD, addiction, and other behavioral health challenges
• Fire/EMS Helpline – 1-888-731-FIRE (3473), a confidential, 24/7 helpline for fire and EMS members and their families
• Safe Call Now – 1-206-459-3020, confidential crisis referral service for public safety employees, emergency services personnel, and their family members

Please check on your people. Ask the hard questions. Listen without judgment. And remind one another that reaching out for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
