January may be chilly, but the library was on fire 🔥📚
This month was packed with games that sparked strategy, puzzles that stretched our brains, and plenty of reading wins—from quiet book moments to lively discussions around current events that helped students connect what they read to what’s happening in the world 🌎📰
One of the biggest highlights? Welcoming Marty Chan for an author visit that had students laughing, thinking, and feeling inspired to tell their own stories ✍️👻 Seeing an author bring books to life is always a reminder that reading isn’t just an assignment—it’s an experience.
January reminded us that learning can be playful, thoughtful, and meaningful all at once. Cheers to turning the page and keeping the momentum going! 🧩🎲📖✨ https://www.canva.com/design/DAG_1l3zD8s/k9t82EkrY1P3_Caw21KC-Q/view?utm_content=DAG_1l3zD8s&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=uniquelinks&utlId=h2d0d3f10a2

What a day to remember for our Longhorns! ❤️📚
World Read Aloud Day 2026 was incredible. Every student connected with stories and storytellers as 46+ authors joined us virtually, sharing their books and inspiring our kids to see themselves as future writers, too.
So proud of our Longhorns and grateful for the authors who made today unforgettable. LCLCISD Libraries

✨ World Read Aloud Day started early for our Longhorns! ✨
We’re so thankful author Marty Chan spent time with our students today. Our 6th graders were fully engaged—listening, thinking, and asking great questions. Author visits like this help bring stories to life, spark curiosity, and remind students that books are created by real people with powerful stories to share.
Such a meaningful way to celebrate readingand the writing process ! 📚 LCISD Libraries. Polly Ryon Middle School

Our longhorns used library technology to create math videos explaining how to solve equations, applying Math TEKS, Library TEKS, and digital creation skills.
With support in Canva design and media tools, students collaborated, communicated their thinking, and created original products.
The library continues to serve as a TEKS-aligned learning hub where students create, teach, and grow.
The library is the best place to be. 🤙🏽
