Volunteer Needs:
Front Desk/Administrative: Volunteers will support front desk and administrative tasks including: answering phones, checking in guests, and monitoring voicemails. Daytime, evening, and weekend opportunities.
Freezer Volunteer: Volunteers will sort and shelve frozen items, rotate inventory, and ensure products are easy to find for Market operations. Must be comfortable working in cold temperatures and able to lift up to 25 lbs.
Driver Substitute: Substitute drivers are needed to support morning grocery store pick ups or weekly grocery home deliveries. Truck or SUV recommended for grocery store pick ups. Any vehicle size welcome for home deliveries. Must be able to lift 15-25 pounds
Box Truck Driver: Box truck drivers are needed to pick up donations and supplies from vendors and partners. CDL license not required. Must be comfortable driving a box truck.
Garden Volunteer: Garden volunteers are needed to help maintain and harvest fresh produce from our raised garden beds. No experience required. Must be willing to work as a team. 8-10am once per week Monday-Friday.
Market Substitute: Market Substitutes provide flexible support in The Market by filling in when regular volunteers are unavailable. Shifts are two hours long.

There will be a drive thru drop off school supply drive this morning at Virginia Department of Health’s Madison Plaza on E. Grace Street from 7:30AM to 10AM with On The Square and Virginia Department of Transportation to support the YMCA of Greater Richmond’s Bright Beginnings program.
Each year, many families face economic challenges that make purchasing school supplies difficult. A new backpack and basic supplies provide more than classroom tools; they give a child confidence, dignity, and a strong start to the school year. Your generosity helps ensure K-12 students across Greater Richmond walk into school prepared and supported for success this year. Every donation matters!

Tomorrow, First Gentleman Adam Spanberger will be hosting a mid-week ride on the Virginia Capital Trail. Departing from Great Shiplock Park, you can expect a casual 4 mile ride out (8 miles total) with refreshments at the half-way point. This group ride is open to cyclists of all experience levels!

Charity registration for the 2026 Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC) is open!
The CVC has been the official workplace giving program for Virginia's state employees since 1997. By participating, your 501(c)(3) organization can gain gains visibility across the entire public workforce and access to a community dedicated to local impact through payroll deductions, direct giving, volunteerism, and more.
Remember - even if you participated in 2025, you must register annually for inclusion in the new campaign year!
