The Department of Elections held an election security training exercise in partnership with the Virginia Department of Emergency Management and the Virginia Fusion Center.

More than 125 local election officials, emergency management personnel and law enforcement officers participated.

ELECT engages with local, state, and federal partners before every election to ensure the safety of voters and election workers and the security of voting equipment.

In addition to being an important part of election preparedness, these training exercises provide an excellent opportunity for members of the election community from across the Commonwealth to establish and deepen relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders.
