Last night around 2100, DEC began receiving multiple calls for a house fire in the 4100 Blk of Pettus Rd in the first due. The Engine and Truck responded and arrived to a single story SFD with fire showing. Members extinguished the same and provided searches which were negative. Companies operated for approximately 4 hours before returning to service.

This fire was a good reminder of the importance of having a back up plan. After not seeing the initial hydrant, 22 quickly made the decision to deploy the Detroit load and reverse out to the next hydrant up the block, resulting in almost no time lost. Photos are of the initial hydrant.
