๐ก๏ธ Extreme heat can be more than uncomfortableโit can be dangerous.
As temperatures rise across Virginia, remember to stay hydrated, take frequent breaks, seek air-conditioned spaces when possible, and look out for those most vulnerable to heat-related illness.
Stay safe. Stay cool. Stay prepared. ๐๐

We love a Tuesday shoutout for one of Richmondโs own! We love you Andy - your AMR Richmond family โค๏ธ
Andrew Shelton has been a first responder for 38 years. He finds great fulfillment in offering life lessons to the next generation, sharing stories and practical experience with future first responders. One of his earliest calls sticks with him the most:
At 16 years old, Andrew completed a ride-along with his local rescue squad. That morning, they delivered a baby in the field. Hours later, they responded to a fatal car accident. The stark contrast left a lasting impression, and that was when he knew EMS was the industry for him.
Today, he values the opportunity to mentor his fellow AMR team members, teaching safety and technical skills as well as guiding them through real-world challenges. Andrew continues to give back in a meaningful way, and we are very fortunate to have him supporting Richmond, Virginia.
