On May 23, 2024 Altrusa Capital City’s Literacy Committee members, Connie Cook, Jackie & Mary Jo Presley, Frances Ellis and June Pearson visited and toured (HFF) Housing Families First’s campus and donated to their Forging Foundations program $600 worth of gift cards from various stores in the community.
HFF was very pleased and acceptable of our donation. Even though they are very familiar with Altrusa, we, of course, left brochures which gave them more information about Capital City and what we do.
This is a new Literacy Committee project and we hope to continue an ongoing partnership with HFF. Thanks to our new member, Geneen Howard-Williams, for coordinating and aiding us with this project.
