Voices for Virginia's Children » Update on Foster Care, Senate/House Budget Results This year we find ourselves in a remarkably similar position to where we were last year, with regard to our advocacy around extending foster care supports and adoption assistance for older youth to age 21 (a state option under the federal Fostering Connections Act).

Jason Collins at the opening plenary of the National Mentoring Summit last week, reminding us that "we can be possibility role models" for our youth by leading "authentic lives."

January is National Mentoring Month!!!! GE is so fortunate to have a dedicated, selfless group of mentors who are a constant source of support to our students. Please take an extra few minutes this month to thank those who mentor youth in the community or anyone who is a mentor to YOU. Or tag them in this post!!

GEM students spent some time Tuesday stuffing stockings for the local children through the Salvation Army Holiday Socks program! Check it out!
