Today we honor Juneteenth—the day freedom was finally realized for enslaved African Americans more than two years after emancipation was declared.

As we celebrate freedom, we also recognize the work that remains to ensure opportunity, dignity, and justice for all. At OAR, we believe in second chances, human potential, and creating pathways for individuals returning from incarceration to thrive in our community.

Happy Juneteenth. ❤️🖤💚

We’re incredibly grateful for our amazing interns—Kayla, Jude, and Ashli! 💙

Throughout their time with OAR, they’ve made a lasting impact by supporting countless intakes, leading groups and orientations, organizing community events and silent auctions, and even facilitating jail-based groups at Richmond City Justice Center. They consistently stepped up whenever needed, bringing dedication, compassion, and professionalism to everything they did.

Your hard work has not gone unnoticed, and our team—and community—are better because of you.

We wish each of you the very best in your future endeavors. You will be deeply missed! ✨
