Meet Angel! This gorgeous girl is looking for her forever home and a family to give her endless snuggles! Don't let her mean mug picture face fool you.... she is a non stop purr machine and lives for pets! Angel is about 1.5 years old, has had a litter of kittens previously, litterbox trained, up to date on vaccines, good with other cats and kids and I believe she'd be fine with dogs. Angels' adoption fee is $50 if you'd like to use your own vet for her spay or for an additional $100 you can purchase a voucher to be used at Potter League Spay/Neuter clinic that fully covers the cost of her procedure. If you think you have the perfect home for Angel then give us a call at Richmond Animal Control 401-539-4236

We are in need of kitty litter and wet kitten food at the pound for these little monsters! (they're not really monsters... just currently in that VERY messy kitten stage!!) If you'd like to make a donation we have our drop off bin outside the pound (brown waterproof deck tote labeled donations), we are open Mon-Fri 7-3 (if no one is in office during those hours donations can be left inside front door along wall). I have attached our Amazon wish list which is also pinned at top of page but honestly any litter (minus pellets) and wet kitten food works!! They are not picky!! If you order from the wish list it will be shipped directly to the pound! Our tail less Calico female and 2 tail less orange and white males will be available for adoption in the coming weeks so keep an eye out for that post! (the full orange and orange and white standing in the doorway of hideout are NOT available)

This post may be controversial to some so comments have been disabled to prevent arguements. This is being posted SOLELY for informational purposes. This farm is offering a rooster (they will also accept poultry of any age/kind and rabbits' same day as well) drop off day. This is NOT a sanctuary; the animals will be used for their meat. We understand that this may be upsetting to many HOWEVER this is a MUCH more humane ending than "dumping" your unwanted roosters/chicken and rabbits in the woods somewhere or simply "setting them free". When you do that, you have without a doubt put them in a situation where they will either starve to death or suffer horrible deaths from predators. We receive TONS of calls for dumped roosters/rabbits that are (a lot of the time) impossible to catch after they have been dumped. If you cannot rehome then this is an option. No judgement

**PENDING ADOPTION** (WILL UPDATE IF IT FALLS THROUGH)

Happy Halloween…..just a wee bit early! Looking to adopt a mini panther? Then meet “Binx”! This very LARGE 19lb handsome man is looking for his forever home! “Binx” is a 4-year-old, NEUTERED male cat who is up to date on his vaccines. “Binx” previously lived with a dog and children and was great with both. He has not lived with other cats and is quite grumbly when he passes by another cat's cage here, but he is also purring as he grumbles so not entirely sure how'd he'd be with a feline brother or sister! He is a love bug couch potato who needs a place to call his own! Adoption fee $50. If you are interested in meeting “Binx” please contact us at Richmond Animal Control 401-539-4236 to set up a time to visit him. Please leave a message if we do not answer!

Perfect way to end my day! 6 healthy and beautiful kittens! (All bobtails except one!) ❤️

*with every blessing there can be a lesson so bare with me on the importance of spay/neutering your cat!….. “Mama” came to us just in time that her babies were born inside and protected instead of outside like she was living before. We got her with her babies (yup different babies!) and vet believes she’s only about 1-2 yrs old. Her last litter is 14 weeks old now and she’s doing it all over again. These are only 2 litters we’re aware of… there could have been more! This poor girl has spent the majority of her very short life so far outside/pregnant/nursing/weening kittens! We’ll hold these babes for 8 weeks and find them homes and we will continue to work with “Mama” over the next 8 weeks to get her to trust people, she will be fixed and find her very own loving, protected, forever home where she can finally relax!! Stay tuned for cute kitten updates as they grow! We will post when they are available for adoption.

**OSCAR HAS BEEN ADOPTED!** Thank you all for your interest! If you would like to be added to a barn cat list please send me a message and I will create a list we can keep on file!

Looking for a barn cat? We have the boy for you!! Meet Oscar (the grouch). Will he snuggle you, enjoy pets and purr up a storm?..... NOPE!
Will he gladly accept free food?..... oh yeah!
Will he occasionally greet you with grumbles and angry looks of disgust.... that's also a yes!
Will he earn his keep making sure your yard/barn/farm is rodent (and his favorite is spiders!) free?... that's a definite yes!

Oscar was living with a feral colony in an area that wasn't safe for him, so he is looking for his new home! He was recently neutered, flea treated, ear mite treated and given all his shots and is ready to go! Oscar LOVES cats especially kittens! (although his face still remains grumpy) He has recently let me slowly pet his head so with a lot of time I think you might just get a little more tolerance out of him! Vet believes he is about 1 year old. Litter trained and a quiet boy. Adoption fee is $50
Oscar is NOT a cat that would like to be kept inside, he is meant for the barn life (and honestly would be miserable if he wasn't allowed to do that!) If you think you have the place for him, give us a call 401-539-4236 or send us a message on here!

Just a little PSA! Raccoons, skunks, foxes, coyotes etc are often thought to be nocturnal only and cause a public panic when seen out during the day. The truth is....... they are primarily nocturnal BUT often are out during the day for a variety of reasons.... they may be looking for food, their home may have been disturbed, or it could be a mother looking for a break from her babies! If you see one of these animals simply just outside during the day that is not a reason to panic or call Animal Control or the Police department. BUT if you see one of these animals out during the day (or night) and it ALSO is foaming at the mouth, panting, falling down, spinning in circles, looks sickly, running in traffic etc THAT is a reason to call us! Now is also the time where babies of all kinds are getting big enough to explore the areas around their dens so you will OFTEN see babies alone as they explore... again this is completely normal. When these babies are out exploring, they look TINY, but they are pretty self-sufficient and the last thing they need is human interaction. If you handle wildlife and it scratches/bites you (natural instinct for them!) they have to be tested for rabies and unfortunately the only way to do that is to put them down. PLEASE respect our wildlife, give them room to grow/explore and "catching them to help them because they're out during the day" separates them from a fur family waiting for them! If you have questions feel free to give us a call!!

Friendly reminder...... 4th of July is approaching quickly.... if your dog requires anxiety meds NOW is the time (if not already) to contact your vet if you need a refill!! please do NOT wait until Friday (or worse Saturday!) YES, independent aerial fireworks in RI are illegal... YES someone will still set them off! Ground fireworks are legal and those are just as loud! If your dog is scared of fireworks (thunder, loud noises etc) please do NOT leave them outside, in fenced in yard, tied out etc.....they CAN and WILL break free! We have a large uprise in "runaway" dogs during times like 4th of July and want to make sure all our furry friends are safe! Stay smart, stay safe and Happy (almost) 4th!

Richmond Animal Control has an amazing following and the best luck finding great homes for our furry friends! With our last batch of adoptees already out the door, I wanted to take a minute to post some gorgeous girls who are available for adoption right over at Hopkinton Animal Control! Meet Miss Mittens and Cali!
Miss Mittens is an absolutely beautiful black and white semi medium haired, female kitty who is about a year old. She is up to date on vaccines and spayed. She is SUPER sweet, loves pets and meows up a storm for them! She loves cats and would do ok with a dog that knows how to behave around cats! lol
Cali...... I could go on forever about this AMAZING couch potato who has affectionately earned herself the nickname of "Land Hippo". She is absolutely stunning with one piercing blue eye. Cali is 5 years old, fixed and up to date on shots. (honestly, I would LOVE to take her myself if I didn't have a full house already!) Cali LIVES for love! She doesn't seem phased by cats (although has only been tested through kennel doors) and she can be dog selective so if you have a 4-legged friend at home it would need to be a meet and greet to see if they match. Cali is short and squat (and WIDE but shhhhh don't tell her I said that!) She thinks she's a lap dog and perfectly content sleeping the day away in a comfy sunny spot. LOVES kids! If you are interested in either Miss Mittens of Cali please fill out the form for Hopkinton animal control and ACO Bowen will reach out to you as quickly as she can! You won't be disappointed in either of these girls!
