Pride in Richmond is Picking Up! That is the slogan of the Richmond Clean City Commission (CCC). Officially created by city ordinance in 1993, it had its beginnings in 1975 as a part of the Keep America Beautiful initiative. Today the CCC sponsors programs that encourage citizens to clean, maintain and beautify their environment.

Charles Price helped create the Cannon Creek Greenway Trail. Years later, Richmond honored his work. A former de facto dumping ground in the city’s North Side that’s now a paved trail welcoming cyclists and pedestrians was named Friday for the man who helped transform it.
