New CCC Program | RVA Clean Business Partner Recognition Program & Awards:

The Richmond Clean City Commission (CCC) is accepting applications and community nominations for the inaugural 2026 RVA Clean Business Partner Awards through October 31, 2026. The program recognizes and celebrates Richmond businesses that help keep Richmond cleaner, greener, and more sustainable.

Each year, the Commission will recognize at least five Richmond businesses for their efforts to reduce litter, support recycling, promote sustainability, and contribute to a cleaner city.

Recognized businesses will receive an official RVA Clean Business Partner window decal and plaque to display at their location, a certificate and a photo opportunity.

Apply or Nominate a Business:
Businesses may apply directly for recognition, and community members are also invited to nominate businesses they believe are making a positive impact.

Examples of eligible efforts may include, but are not limited to:

-Reducing litter around a business or nearby public spaces
-Supporting recycling or composting
-Reducing single-use plastics or waste
-Using reusable, recyclable, or sustainable materials
-Participating in neighborhood cleanups
-Encouraging employees, customers, or neighboring businesses to help keep Richmond clean

Applications and nominations will be accepted through October 31, 2026.

Review and Selection Process:
Applications and nominations will be reviewed, discussed, and voted upon at the virtual public meeting of the Richmond Clean City Commission on Wednesday, November 25, 2026.

Award recipients will be announced on December 15, 2026.

Selected businesses will receive public recognition from the Richmond Clean City Commission, an official 2026 RVA Clean Business Partner window decal, and a plaque recognizing their efforts. Awardees will also be invited to participate in a recognition photo opportunity; additional details will be shared closer to the awards announcement.

The Brookland Park community cleanup will be held this Saturday September 19th from 9:45 to 11:15 am. The cleanup effort will focus on the business corridor, clearing storm drains and lanes along Brookland Park Blvd as well as North Ave. Cleaning tools will be provided. A few hundred pounds of garbage ranging from plastic bottles to bicycle frames were collected at the cleanup event on Vauxhall Island this past weekend. Thank you to everyone who came out!
