State Representative Ed Butler State Representative District 41 As a self employed small business man I know the importance of hard work, dedication, and perseverance.

My believe in giving back to our community and serve in several organizations to give back. Our children deserve a quality age appropriate education, not an indoctrination. I believe small government is best and that local governments should govern themselves. The government is to serve the citizens not the other way around.

Spent part of the day at the October Sky Festival in Oliver Springs. The town has a unique place in East Tennessee history through the filming of October Sky, and it’s good to see that history celebrated and shared with the next generation.

Thank you to the Oliver Springs Historical Society, the Town of Oliver Springs, and all the volunteers who helped make the festival possible.

Anderson County Republican Party Meet & Greet at Hamock’s in Clinton.

We had some good conversations about what’s going on in our state and in our communities, and I appreciated the opportunity to answer questions and hear what’s on people’s minds.

Thank you to Hamock’s for hosting us tonight. They had a great spread of food and some excellent desserts.

And thank you to the Anderson County Republican Party for putting the evening together. I enjoyed the time with everyone.

Allardt was busy today for the 35th Annual Great Pumpkin Festival and Parade. We enjoyed the parade, car show, pumpkin weigh-off and visiting with folks throughout the day.

The biggest pumpkin at the weigh-off came in at 1,752.4 pounds, grown by Doug Kisamore of Ohio.

And yes… Kim found her ice cream. 🍦

Congratulations to Allardt on 35 years of the Great Pumpkin Festival!

What a great day in Livingston celebrating new vehicles and equipment for several local nonprofits providing food resources in Overton County.

5 Loaves Food Pantry , FBC Livingston, Hippie Hippie Jack’s, and the Overton County Senior Citizens Center will all be putting these resources to work serving people in our community.

A lot of work, phone calls, and emails went into making this happen, and it was rewarding to see these resources delivered and ready to be put to use.

Thank you to Matt Copeland for helping get this grant completed, and to everyone who works every day to serve others in need.
