that on January 14, 1980, the Indian Wells Valley Water District officially received the name we know today?

The District was previously known as the Ridgecrest County Water District. As its service area grew beyond the City of Ridgecrest, the Board of Directors voted to rename it the Indian Wells Valley County Water District.

Then, on January 14, 1980, the Board formally removed “County” from the name, establishing the Indian Wells Valley Water District.

More than four decades later, the District continues to serve the Indian Wells Valley community.

Xeriscaping isn’t just about what you plant. It’s how you care for it. Control weeds and pests, fertilize responsibly, mow at the right height, and keep your irrigation system efficient to avoid wasting water.

Seeing a Replenishment Fee on your water bill? Here’s what to know.

The replenishment fee was established by the Indian Wells Valley Groundwater Authority (IWVGA), not the District. The applicable fee is collected through customers’ water bills and remitted to the IWVGA. We do not keep the replenishment fee and are making these payments under protest.

Keeping customers informed and helping our community understand the charges that appear on their water bills remains a priority. Learn more about your bill at: https://bit.ly/47xt0Yd
