It was an honor to have our Department Color Guard be invited to participate in the 25th anniversary of 9-11 Mass by the Diocese of Bridgeport and Bishop Caggiano. This mass celebrates the men and women who work as first responders to help keep our communities safe. Fire, Police, EMS, dispatchers and military personnel were in attendance. The mass was led by Bishop Frank Caggiano and moderator Deacon George Kain, a former police commissioner of the Ridgefield Police Department.

As we approach the 25th anniversary of September 11th, our crew will place 40 American flags along Main Street, from Prospect Street to Market Street. Our department proudly displayes these flags on national and state holidays and during special community events. A dedicated crew of volunteer firefighters including Andy Pambianchi, Tom Tuohy, Fernando Rivadeneira, Mike Kazlauskas, Ben Potel, Charley Van de Merlen and Ryan Malley ensure that the flags are displayed for each occasion, with several alternates available to help. The crew along with other department members also maintains every flag and pole, repairing and repainting the poles each year and replacing the flags as they begin to show wear. Thanks for displaying the American flags along our beautiful Main Street for special occasions.
