Thank you to everyone who voted, and to my supporters, thank you for the honor of your vote, your encouragement, and your contributions throughout this campaign.

Like you, I am disappointed by the outcome. But now we must focus on the bigger picture.

District 2 deserves consistent, accountable representation on the Clark County Council. Unfortunately, we haven't had that. Michelle Belkot has missed 25% of council meetings and work sessions she was expected to attend. While attending remotely she is not fully participating, often with her camera off. This isn't the level of service our community deserves.

That's why I ask my supporters, regardless of political affiliation, to unite behind John Zingale. Clark County deserves a councilmember who shows up, is engaged, and represents the people every single day. In any other job, consistently missing a quarter of your meetings wouldn't be acceptable. It shouldn't be acceptable for our elected officials either.

Thank you again for believing in me and in our vision for a better Clark County.

It is never too early to teach your kids about the importance of voting. My granddaughter helped last week. Don't forget to turn in your ballot by Tuesday, August 4th.

“Every month a housing project sits waiting for permits adds costs that ultimately get passed on to homebuyers and renters. We can control this at the county level,” wrote District 2 candidate Martin Pittioni in response to questions from OPB. “I would love to see a pilot project experimenting with far speedier permitting, and using affordable housing projects in the pipeline as a priority in such a pilot.”

Candidates’ views about light rail on the I-5 bridge, the budget deficit and housing development could be deciding factors for voters.

One of the best parts of this campaign is meeting neighbors, listening to your stories, and talking about the future of Clark County.

Today marks 42 years since I arrived in the United States. This anniversary is especially meaningful because I had the honor of casting my ballot as a candidate for Clark County Council.

I'm grateful for the opportunities this country has given me, and I'm committed to giving back through public service. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this incredible journey.
